Artos Zois Foundation / completed
Artos Zois is a non-profit educational foundation in Athens, since 1937.
The Artos Zois Library holds a collection which is unique in Greece and covers the fields of Biblical and Jewish Studies, Patristics, Theology and Philosophy.
Founded in a 1930s modern apartment building next to the National Archeological Museum, its special book collection (over 18K titles) needed to be re-categorized and open to the public. Its new space provides a maximum library capacity, a study-seminar hall, administration offices and a conference room.
The extensive use of raw wood and simple materials in clear design lines was intentional so it creates an essential dialogue with the foundation's scope, the promotion of the Biblical studies.
